What does your training look like?

Hi! We're an up and coming team in Delaware with minimal resources locally. I am wondering: what does your training look like?

Congratulations on your up and coming team! Training looks a little bit different for each team as they are all so unique. Overall, training usually involves a history of LOSS Teams and how they function overall. They will often focus on the difference between an active or delayed response, how to talk to those on the scene, the roles of each individual on scene, boundaries and self-care are big topics and so helpful as well. Role Plays are helpful and, as Sandra mentioned, shadowing another team member is really helpful if you have the opportunity. Thought that may not be possible if you are the only team in the area. Usually a LOSS Team associate can help you with this training and then each team will usually have unique trainings specific to their own team as the process and logistics will look so different from team to team.
